The Yucca Mountain site visit will take place on May 3, 2020. Those visiting the Yucca Mountain site will gather at 8 am at UNLV then caravan to the site 90 miles from Las Vegas on US 95 and take the right turn onto the dirt road between mile marker NY45 & NY46. Look for the streamers marking the dirt road.

A truck or all-wheel drive vehicle with good tires is required but, cars have been driven to the base of Yucca Mountain. Driving slow is key and having plenty of water is necessary.

At Yucca Mountain there will be short presentations as we study the effects of climate change as calcite deposits on the welded tuff the region is composed of and consider the water inside the pores of the rock that makes up the mountain.

Then we will hike to the mountain ridge.
